Tour #2:
Petroglyphs, Fort Pierce Ruins, Dinosaur Tracks
(Mild) Saint George
This tour goes into a desolate desert area of the Arizona Strip.
Here we view panels of ancient inscriptions made by various tribes
of Indians 700 - 1000 years ago. Some tell stories, some seem to
give directions, but all give a view into the cultural past of these
ancient people who are no more.

Fort Pierce Ruins: The tour proceeds to the ruins of a sandstone
fort complete with gun ports that overlook what was a most important
water source for early settlers. Battles took place here that eventually
evicted the Indians from their own lands and opened up the land
for settlement in the late 1800's.
Saint George
Dinosaur Tracks: Then it's off to a hardened stream bed where
dinosaurs walked in soft mud that solidified into rock - leaving
a trail of unique tracks that have lasted over the millenniums.
We can follow the tracks of these lumbering leviathans and get an
exciting glimpse of life in prehistoric time.Saint George
